On August 4 over 100 amateur runners came to the Expocenter of Ukraine to test their functional preparation for 9th Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon, which will take place on October 7.
The Long Training. 10 km test run was organized by the Run Ukraine, the organizer of Kyiv marathon, as part of the marathon preparation program. Before the start all participants were given race bib numbers with result capturing electronic chip and took a photo in front of the brand wall.
After an energetic warm-up led by a Run Ukraine coach, the runners came to the starting line and ran 5 km or 10 km at the competition pace.
There, at the Long Training. 10 km runners were assisted by the pacemakers who helped to keep the pace to: 4:15 min/km, 4:31 min/km, 4:52 min/km, 5:13 min/km, 5:34 min/km, 5:55 min/km and 6:16 min/km.
There was a hydration station at the finish line as well as along the route, and everyone could do some stretching with a professional coach after the race.
