On the first weekend of October, 5-6 October, due to the 10th Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon in the city center will be restricted traffic, that will change the public transport routes.

Overlapping traffic is one of the mandatory requirements for conducting mass running competitions. Thus, more than 17,000 participants, including children, aged and people with disabilities will receive a guarantee of security on the race track.
The organizer of the Kyiv Marathon, Run Ukraine, apologizes and recommends the residents of Kyiv and its guests to plan their city journey in advance an alternative route, considering the overlap schedule.
On Friday, October 4, preparatory work will be started in the area of Sofia Square, so traffic will be restricted to Volodymyrskyi passage, Alla Tarasova Street and
Mala Zhytomyrska already at 9:00 pm Traffic on these streets will be unblocked on Sunday, October 6 at 10:00 pm.
In the morning of October 5, the streets of Trokhsviatytelska and Volodymyrska(section from Velyka Zhytomyrska to Sofiyivska street) will be closed for traffic. There will also be restored movement on October 6 at 10:00 pm.
The traffic on other streets will be restricted and resumed gradually. The entire route of the Kiev Marathon is divided into conditional “sections”, where traffic is restored as soon as the runners will have been overcome them. For example, Peremohy Square and Zhilanska and Saksaganskogo Streets will be opened to motorists already at 11:15 on Sunday, access to the Paton Bridge will appear around 1:15 pm, here those who want to drive along Sichovyh Strilciv Street will have to wait until 4:00 pm.
Everything is organized in such a way as to restore regular traffic as soon as possible and minimize congestion. In general, traffic will be limited to around 40 Kyiv streets and three bridges: Pivnichnyi, Havanskyi and Paton Bridge. The streets below will restrict traffic, including public and cycling. Run Ukraine apologizes for the inconvenience and invites everyone to Sofia Square to support runners from around the world.
If necessary, special transport will be allowed on the marathon route, such as: police cars, emergency, fire and gas services, as well as elevator services.
