On October 8th the eighth international Kyiv marathon Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon 2017 will be held in the capital. Due to the annual racing event the city streets will be partially closed for traffic along the marathon route the day before and on the day of the event. Closing traffic is one of the mandatory conditions for holding mass running events. In this way more than 10 thousand participants of the event, including children, receive guaranteed security on the route. Organizer of the 8th Kiev Marathon, Run Ukraine, recommends drivers to schedule in advance their travel around the city by alternative route, taking into account the traffic closing schedule.
October 7th
Preparatory works will be held this day on Khreshchatyk street, that is why traffic will be closed from 6:00 a.m. October 7th to 6:00 a.m. October 8th. Closed area: from intersection of Khreshchatyk and Bogdan Khmelnytskogo streets to the intersection of Maidan Nezalezhnosti with Mikhailivska Street.
